Living and working together in Golden: Skills to Unite as Community
Join a five- week participatory group which focuses on moving past what divides us to find what unites us. We will cover five habits which, when practiced, help us to connect as neighbors and community despite different perspectives. This gathering will focus on five habits that come from Parker Palmer, author of Healing the Heart of Democracy. Each week will cover a different habit below and explore how to practice it daily. Please plan to attend all sessions.
- UNDERSTANDING THAT WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
- APPRECIATION OF OTHERNESS
- ABILITY TO HOLD TENSION IN LIFE-GIVING WAYS
- SENSE OF PERSONAL VOICE AND AGENCY
- CAPACITY TO CREATE COMMUNITY
Facilitated by Susan Otey, pastor of the Methodist Church, this group will not include any political or religious orientation.
