Church Building...

Only one pre-war church building could be used immediately after the Battle of Okinawa -- the Naha Methodist Church, which following the war became the Naha Central Church.

However, numerous U.S. Army chaplains encouraged special offerings that helped make it possible to rebuild churches. That assistance, along with fellowship gatherings and other kindly acts by military people, proved positive and helpful.

Right: The Ishikawa Church was one of those rebuilt following WWII.
