HEALTH KITS

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has been in urgent need of Health Kits for people in crisis throughout 2003, particularly due to American military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Rocky Mountain Conference (RMC) of the UMC established a goal of collecting more than 1000 Health Kits by the time of Annual Conference in June, 2003. The RMC easily surpassed the June goal and by end-of-year 2003 had shipped nearly 5,000 health kits! Golden First UMC has participated in this effort. Health Kits are inexpensive and easy to make -- and you may help in this endeavor. Here's how:
INSTRUCTIONS CONTENTS: All items must be NEW. Also, no patriotic, advocacy, or religious symbols are allowed. UMCOR's intent is to help someone in need -- and let God work on the Spirit. Hand Towels (15" x 25" or 17" x 27") Wash Cloths Combs (large and sturdy, no pocket-sized) Fingernail Clippers, or Metal Nail File Bar Soap (bath-sized) Toothbrushes (single brushes only in original wrapper) Toothpaste (4.5 oz tube or larger) Band-Aids (6 single bandages) Zip lock bags (one gallon size) ASSEMBLY: Wrap the items in the towel and place in the one-gallon zippered bag.
