WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE METHODIST?

Our Beliefs!	Wesley's Quadrilateral- Scripture, Tradition, Experience, and Reason- leads us in the nurturement of our relationship with a triune God- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Wesley believed that Scripture reveals the living core of Christian faith- which is illumined by tradition, enlivened by experience, and confirmed by reason!

We are required to proclaim the great news that Jesus Christ lives- and to help people to commit their lives to God through Jesus Christ!	Our Mission!

Our Social Creed!	Our belief in God as the Creator, in Jesus Christ as Redeemer of creation, and in the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives requires we live as Christian Disciples. And our Social Creed specifies a model for living as Chrsitians!

Our beliefs as Christians require that we live responsibly, and living as responsible Christians means we must examine and deal with the social issues which confront us on all scales- as individuals, as congregations, and as local, regional, national, and global communities! Our Symbol!	The emblem of the Cross and Flame is the official symbol of the United Methodist Church! This insignia carries many great meanings for us when we look upon it!

The organization of the United Methodist Church somewhat resembles that of the U.S. Government in that we have a legislative body, a 'judicial council' which acts as our Supreme Court, and a 'Council of Bishops' similar to the executive branch! HOW DO METHODISTS WORSHIP?

We are Christians from Golden, the Rocky Mountain foothills, and the western metropolitan area of Denver who come together as one to lift up our hearts to The Lord in prayer, in meditation, and in song!
