Farewell Luncheon, Heritage Sunday 2000!

Youngsook's last day in the Golden First UMC pulpit -- actually she rarely used the pulpit! -- was July 16, 2000. A heartfelt goodbye luncheon immediately followed her last Worship service. Photo highlights are available here [click].

Youngsook's Pastoral Vision!

"It is a great priviledge to serve as pastor of First United Methodist Church of Golden. We are a growing congregation in a growing community.

During the past several years we have seen many signs of the movement of the Spirit in our midst. We celebrate the movement of the Spirit as we currently experience growth and vitality in many areas such as worship, programs and activities, baptism, and outreach ministries.

We keep engaging ourselves in the task of dreaming for our church! There is a proverb,

'Where there is no vision the people perish.'

We keep our vision alive, seeking to serve God and God's people and we desire to be as supporting to the global world around us."

Writings by Youngsook!

Youngsook describes the journey she took to find her Christian home in the article "When an Exile Finds Home" (from 'Alive Now', March/April 2000, copyright 2000 by The Upper Room, used by permission). Please take a moment to read it online here [click].

Alive Now
The UMC's General Conference is held once every four years. In May, 2000, Methodists from around the world met in Cleveland, Ohio to discuss issues affecting the church. Youngsook was one of four clergy representing the UMC's Rocky Mountain Conference. She reflects on her experiences here [click].
